mud student award - academic excellence for thesis 2023

This research proposal is path to hell through my ‘cabinet of curiosities’  - a decolonial exhibition and speculative urban design studio. that argued that the profession of urban design was and will continue to be a translation machine. the cabinet thinks beyond what is and has been taken for granted in sovereignty struggles, to reach for a libratory global politic. engaging deeply with the intricacies of urban design, I navigated the complexities of post-colonial perspectives and feminist studies within the context of india.

muck fabrics

this develops ways to relook at waste, consumption, and “aesthetic” urban design. the processes counter the development of a culturally adaptive landscape that responds to the historical ramifications of redlining dilapidated social infrastructure, and climate change. the built form is seasonal to accommodate the freeform absorption of the old, new, and emerging identities and world changes. fabrics are an interwoven web of social, economic, and ecological zones spread throughout a prescribed area. this proposes a vernacular resilient framework to create a catalyst for community-driven development, with community-shared, closed system resources from the site.

a speculative and embodied approach through places of worship of a collective land constellation to explore the connection between our inner and outer landscapes. there is an attempt to acknowledge and witness what needs to be seen about the land for critical study. this is a proposal for the creation of the kin-tempor act.
the creation of this act allows people to re-establish kinship ties with abandoned property and nurture abandoned property by creating a relationship with the land rather than a profit-driven relationship.

diy pedagogy manifesto

this manual is part of a larger proposition around decolonising urban design education. this offers a breakdown of pedagogy - it is the opening up the centres without codeswitching. therefore, as showcase to this, the materials present here and in the box require patience, care and maintenance. it's an exploration of my path to advance the fulfilment of the trajectory. it expands on other ways of knowing, learning and understanding information.
